Alcohol may help you fall asleep faster but fragments sleep later in the night, reducing the restorative deep-sleep stages.

Dimming lights an hour before bed, keeping the bedroom cool, and giving yourself a consistent pre-sleep ritual — reading, stretching, or simply sitting quietly — signals to the body that it’s time to downshift. Small, repeatable habits tend to outperform any single sleep gadget or supplement.
