Screening
Preventive Care
Screening, immunisation and lifestyle support to catch problems long before they escalate.

Finding problems while they are still small
Most of the conditions that shorten lives quietly — high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, early diabetes, some cancers — produce no symptoms at all until they have already done damage. Preventive care exists to catch those shifts early, when they are still easy to reverse.
A comprehensive check takes about forty-five minutes and includes a full history, physical examination, blood pressure and heart rate, and bloods covering cholesterol, blood sugar, kidney and liver function. Depending on your age and risk factors we may also recommend cancer screening or a bone density scan.
Why repeating it matters
A single reading tells you very little on its own. A trend across three or four years tells you a great deal. That is the real argument for making a check-up a habit rather than a one-off reaction to feeling unwell.
Immunisation
Seasonal flu, travel vaccines, shingles and pneumococcal cover are all available at the practice, and we keep a record of what you have had and when the next dose is due.
